The other pavilions are screened and have air conditioned bedrooms, one of which is a self contained apartment with Pullmans kitchen, separate entrance and parking area. The property, situated high in Colombier, affords spectacular sunrises and sunsets, with views of St. Martin and Anguilla. The sights and sounds of the environment are very much part of the experience of living in this magnificent setting. It was clearly a vision of the award winning architect to embrace all of the divine elements that St. Barths has to offer.

The villa was viewed by the juror's of the 1990 Boston Exports Award {Awarded by the Boston Society of Architects} as a highly successful response in a benign climate to a simple rendering of pavilions of an elegant simplicity along a site plan in which the adjusted angle admirably reflects the slope and vistas out towards the ocean.

There was strong admiration for the interior character of the dining area with its elegant truss roof and quiet simplicity which renders an anchored and bounded quality to this resort - a distinctive achievement. The restrained intelligence of the stripped away simplicity of the detailing, whether at the points of resolution of corrugated roofing with wall or in the displacement of elements of furnishings within the interiors, all evoked a delight in open and simple resolutions informed by building constraints and wisdom of assembly.

The jury thought the project showed great skill in placement and arrangement, such as on the skew of the site plan. One is rewarded with the insight that this distortion of the plan is indeed responsive to the environment as it breaks the balanced rhythm of pavilions in either side of the promenade. The clear expression of materials and detail avoided any forced historicism or ornamental artifice. It was the considered restraint of numerous such details that gave to this design a quiet resolve and grace, not the less admirable for its self effacing and considered success.

The design creates a series of {3} sleeping pavilions, interconnected by terraces, an atmosphere creating the ultimate in privacy. The setting is 700 ft above the Baie Ou Colombier - frames degree Panoramic views of St. Martin, Anguilla and Saba.
