Castle Scotland 4059 situated on the shores of Loch Fyne dates from the 18th century and is the seat of one of the oldest highland clans, the Maclachlan clan.
The property faces south west with superb views over the loch. It is divided into two and the superior south facing half is available for letting on a self catering basis. Set in 1500 acres of private estate, the castle affords a real retreat. Guests have access to the entire estate which includes three miles of coastline, private roads and tracks, and woodland. The ruin of the original Castle Scotland 4059 dating from the 13th century lies approximately ten minutes walk away. The accommodation at Castle Scotland 4059 offers an excellent combination of style and modern comfort. The kitchen and small sitting room on the lower floor provide a relaxed place to meet up after the days activities, whilst the living rooms on the main floor are a fantastic setting for dinner and conversation into the evening around the open fires of the dining and sitting rooms. Much care and attention has been spent on ensuring that the castle has retained its original atmosphere, whilst providing a welcoming and charming home. First floor: Kitchen and pantry. A large farmhouse style kitchen with Aga and big wooden table seating 12, terracotta flooring. Three rooms off the kitchen provide an extremely well equipped working area and storage with deep freeze. Small sitting room/Children’s room: next to the kitchen this cozy and comfortably furnished room is ideal for an informal cup of tea, or for use as a children’s play room, T.V. Utility room: Good size room with plenty of hanging room. Equipped with sink, washing machine, and tumble dryer. Main floor: The wood paneled hallway with open fireplace, antique settles and stags heads leads to the main living rooms. Dining room: an impressive room with windows on two sides giving views over Loch Fyne and the garden. Oval table seats 12 comfortably. Elegant dressers and open fire give real sense of occasion. Billiard room: off the dining room this room houses a full size billiard table. Seating around the edge of the room allows spectating in comfort. Drawing room: the ornate Italian marble fireplace provides the focus in this spacious and comfortable room. Large window seat with beautiful views. Grand piano. T.V., video, and hi-fi system. First floor and second floor: All the bedrooms occupy these floors they are all tastefully furnished and heated. There are three double rooms, three single rooms, and one twin room. Accommodation is flexible however and extra beds can easily be accommodated in the larger bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. One en suite with a double room, the other tow being shared. All three have baths. Activities: • Billiard room, and all weather tennis court. Grand piano. • There is a sailing school based on the shore of the Loch 10 mins form the castle. The area offers a wide variety of outdoor pursuits including; climbing, hill walking, fishing, and golf at various courses. • There is an excellent restaurant 10 mins walk away from the Castle which overlooks Lachlan bay.
