These 3 coastguard cottages (built in 1995) of the same size in a terrace are within 100 yards of the sea
shore at Keyhaven, a quiet unspoilt hamlet 4 miles west of Lymington in a conservation area. They can
be rented individually or two or three together providing flexible accommodation for small or large
gatherings all year round. The cottages are individually furnished to a high standard. This coastline which
abounds with wild birdlife is a very popular yachting and dinghy sailing area. It is also ideal for walking
and cycling in the safety of the New Forest at all times of the year (bicycles can be hired at Brockenhurst).
A small passenger ferry runs from Keyhaven to the Tudor Hurst Castle and Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight
(30 minute sea trip – bikes can be taken). Fishing trips are easily arranged with a local boatman. After a
sail, walk or bike ride, thirsts and appetites can be well accommodated at the conveniently located 14th
Century Gun Inn just round the corner. Milford-on-Sea, 1/2 mile away, has a good selection of specialist
shops and restaurants.
