This is one of Scotland's more important and prestigious properites. After 19 years of being kept as a private estate, this castle's fairytale ambiance is finally open for private hire.
We are a private residence that hires out the Castle and the Grounds on an exclusive basis for weddings. If you are looking for a venue for your wedding then please look through our brochure.
The castle has three bedrooms as well as three cottages available on the estate. The Ghost Suite includes two twin beds, a sitting room, and a full bathroom. The Brass Suite, complete with fireplace, is just off the main hall and overlooks Lunan Burn. The canopy bed makes one feel as if they are royalty. This suite includes a double bed, sitting room, and full bathroom.
Wing #2 is located on the second floor of the castle. An old, hand-painted window and fireplace grace the dressing room along with Scottish period pieces. This suite includes a double bed, dressing room, and full bathroom.
Wing #3 is located high on the third floor of the castle and affords one total peace and quiet. This room includes a double bed and full bathroom. Guests staying in the wing rooms enjoy the privacy of their own drawing room.

The 156 acre Castle estate provides the following facilities:
An 18 hole par 69, 6032 yard Golf Course (view score card), tennis court, fully equipped Gym with weight lifting and aerobic equipment, full spa (steam room, sauna, & Jacuzzi), Tanning Bed, Trophy room, A Chapel (in the newest wing of the Castle, formally the village school which was converted in 1997), a beautifully sculptured horse-shoe shaped, historic (1614) Walled Garden, magnificently groomed lawns and forest patches for scenic walks and its own Loch - in which fishing is permitted when in season. Clay pigeon shooting and Falconry are also available upon prior request.
If you take a restful stroll through the 2.2 acre Walled garden, you may stop at the top for a game on the giant chessboard or merely sit and relax gazing down across the majestic garden to Guthrie Castle.
Beyond the Walled Garden, you can continue a leisurely walk to the East gate of the estate past the stables and 160-year-old uninhabited manse (Ministers House) and shortly thereafter, Hay Cottage, on your way to the village of Guthrie just beyond the gates. There you will find the Guthrie Aisle (ancient church), built in 1150 and purchased by Sir David Guthrie in 1498, adjacent to the Guthrie Cemetery.
Additionally, a day of golf can be arranged at nearby Carnoustie, the site of Ben Hogan's 1953, Tom Watson's 1975 and local Scotsman Paul Lawrie's 1999 British Open Victories.
