This villa is the main house of the Fattoria di Petrolo, a large estate located in the hills of the Chianti region, 1 km from the village of Mercatele Valdarno, where olive-oil and excellent wine are produced. The Villa was built in the 18th century by Massimiliano Soldani and restored after World War II. It stands next to a beautiful Romanesque church, the Pieve di Galtrona, where one can admire a font by Luca della Robbia. Surrounding the villa, a private park of 1 hectare with a nice swimming-pool (6x12 m) and a private tennis-court. The furniture consists mostly of valuable antiques. Its central position about half-way between Arezzo, Siena and Florence and the ease with which you can reach the road links (just 10 minutes from the Valdarno exit of the A1 motorway) makes the property an ideal base for sightseeing in all the main art cities throughout Tuscany.
