Castle Scotland 5694
Castle Scotland 5694 is a beautiful private home dating from 1530 and situated in 44 acres of its own grounds, enclosed by a high stone wall, on the edge of the village of Auchtermuchty. The many leisure activities which can be arranged during your stay include stalking, shooting, fishing and hill walking. Some of the most famous golf courses in the world are within an easy drive of the castle, notably St. Andrews, Carnoustie and Gleneagles and, within enough advance notice, tee times can be arranged. Alternatively, visits can be made to historical sites, such as Scone Palace, Blair Castle, Glamis Castle or the tomb of Robert the Bruce.
Although fully staffed, it is the policy at Castle Scotland 5694 to afford guests as much privacy as possible and to encourage them to treat the castle as their home. Meals can be served in the dining room or, for smaller or less formal groups, in the Victorian family kitchen. The meals are an unforgettable experience in themselves, cooked by a renowned chef, using fresh local produce. Prices are quoted for three and four nights stays as well as for periods of one week, and are based on breakfast, light lunch, dinner and non-alcoholic beverages. Myres does not hold a licence, but alcohol may be purchased from their attendant establishment, direct to the castle.
The very pretty grounds include a maze and a lawned area where a marquee can be erected for a special occasion. Inside the castle, there is a billiard room, table tennis, cable TV, DVD, video and video games. All rooms have central heating and there are fires in the living areas. All bedrooms have direct dial telephones and a modem for personal computers can be found in the study, along with a fax machine. There is also an e-mail facility.
