This villa is an enchanting and beautifully restored historic little hamlet set in an aristocratic estate of cypress, magnolia and weeping willow trees, lillied lakes and fountains.
Hidden away in the Lucchese hills yet just 10 minutes from the walled city Lucca, it is a Tuscan retreat of the great charm available for exclusive private rental.
The ground floor is comprised of many different area's. There is a fully equipped kitchen and formal dining room. There is a drawing room with fireplace and satellite tv and dual capacity video. An office is also available with telephone, fax, internet access and computer facitlities. A music room with a piano and log fireplace allow for relaxing nights. There is also a card and billiard room, a wine library, workout room, sun and reading lounge and 4 bathrooms on the ground floor.
The first floor has 12 guest bedrooms, 4 of which can either be king or twin bedrooms. Each with superb en suite bath and shower facilities, 5 of which have hydro massage baths and individually temperature controlled all of which linked to a central music system.
The La Chiesina, which is the original stone chapel of the estate now accomodates three warm, sunny and luxurious en suite bedrooms overlooking the swimming pool to one side and a courtyard filled with terracota pots and lemon tress to the other.
Mercurio which is a warm, zesty and spacious, queen bedroom with two large armchairs and writing desk. Large en suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath and seperate box shower.
Melograno is a small but cosy double bedroom with doors opening to a view across the Italian gardens. There is also an en suite bathroom.
Magnolia is clementine yellow and raspberry red medium sized king or twin bedroom with double doors leading out onto a small sun terrace. En suite bathroom.
The Ferro-A-U, which is the oldest part of the property, once a wild boar hunting lodge, with walls dating back to the year 1,000 and where the original olive press used to be housed. There are five central luxurious bedrooms in a horseshoe arrangement all with original beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and overlooking our little Italian piazza. These guestrooms are situated above the music room, card and billard room and wine library.
The Venere is a spacious and cool wedgewood blue queen bedroom encircled with windows and comprosing lounge area with sofa and chair, writting desk and a beautifully frescoed en suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath.
Trifoglio which is a gentle gold and red cloverleaf king or twin bedroom with doors opening out and overlooking a courtyard area filled with terracotta pots and lemon trees. En suite bathroom.
Camelia is intimate olive green queen bedroom with frescoed en suite bathroom.
Cipresso is characterful, vibrant greena and red queen bedroom with frescoed en suite bathroom
The Bacco is a regal peach and gold queen bedroom with sofa, writing desk and view across the 17th centurey fountains towards Lucca. en suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath.
Peschiera has four delightful and elegant guestrooms integrated around the original 17 century fountains, overlooking the splendid Italian park and above the grand dining room and the formal drawing room.
Diana is a large, soothing emerald green king or twin bedroom with writing desk and armchairs. Luminous en suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath and splendid gold features.
Giglio is a spirited and lively strawberry red and gold queen bedroom with frescoed en suite bathroom.
Ninfea is a fresh and reflective deep blue king or twin bed with trellised frescos and en suite bathroom.
Apollo is a seductive midnight blue and gold queen bedroom with sofa and writing desk. Bright en suite bathroom with jacuzz bath.
There is a flood lit salt water pool and mountain bikes available.
Included: Heating and air conditioning of house, electricity, water, gas, use of water, bikes, swimming pool, and the services of four staff including a chef. Staff alternate to have one day off per week and, along with housekeeping duties, cater for a continental/buffet style breakfast and one cooled meal per day (either lunch or dinner). Please note when the chef has a day off no meals are provided apart from breakfast.
